When the “Feed the Fish” toy from Move2Play arrived, we set it on the floor by the play mat and watched as our little one crawled right over, reached for the fish, and beamed when the fish responded. What started as curiosity quickly turned into full-blown giggles of delight.

Our Observations

From our play sessions:

• Our little one is a bit young for this one, but, nonetheless, when she dropped a fish block in place, the toy “cheered” and she grinned - immediate positive reinforcement.

• When she began to recognize that the fish made distinct sounds, she seemed to start switching blocks around intentionally. It felt like she knew the game.

• The novelty of songs is strong at first, but after repeated use we noticed she’d press just for the reaction more than exploring new phrases - but that’s when rotation with other toys helped.

• One playtime turned into a mini “feed-the-fish” race: she crawled after a rolling fish block, defeated the toy by pressing it, and then looked back for applause. Precious.

Things to keep in mind:

• The sound/music may repeat and become predictable over time

• Use the toy in short bursts to keep it fresh and fun

• Pair it with quiet playtime afterward so your little one doesn’t get overstimulated

• Inspect the blocks and slots periodically to make sure nothing has loosened
